Gallup Museum Exhibition - "50 Years of Art and Activism"
December 4, 2024 to February 28, 2025 8:00 AM –5:00 PM
Gallup Museum Exhibition
"50 Years of Art and Activism" uses images, objects, and videos to explore the origins of the Inter-Tribal Indian Ceremonial we know today. The exhibit will explore why Gallup was chosen as the home of the Inter-Tribal Indian Ceremonial and the key players in that decision. It will also critically examine the first 50 years of the Ceremonial's existence, during which it grappled with exponential growth, tension with various Indigenous groups, eviction from its longtime venue, and the rapid modernization of the 20th century. On display throughout December at Red Rock Park Museum Building.
