Everyone can make a tremendous impact in the amount of trash lying around our community. Imagine what people throughout our community could do!
We, the Keep Gallup Clean & Beautiful Board, for the month April 2025, challenge all local youth, and citizens in our community to pick up trash in their area. And, we challenge All family members, friends, and local schools to get together during the month of April in honor of Earth Day, April 22 to clean litter around their properties, and city right‐of‐ways.
Did you know? There are 50 BILLION pieces of litter are on the ground in America? 24 Billion pieces along roadways = (2,587 pieces per mile), and 26 Billion pieces along waterways = (2,411 pieces per mile). Litter is Significant, and Solvable. Keep America Beautiful encourages All Individuals to pickup 152 pieces of litter. Why 152? If everyone made the action of picking up 152 pieces of litter (all at once). This is the amount of litter each person in America needs to pick up to make our nation a litter-free place. Join the #152 PickUpChallenge .
If we all participate, imagine the impact this challenge would have on the quality of our city streets, properties, schools, neighborhoods, businesses, and local environment.
